A Peterborough man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a crash which shut a main road in the city

Emergency services were called at 5.37pm yesterday (23 May) with reports of a collision involving two cars in Bretton Way, Peterborough.
A Police spokesman said: “The collision, which involved an Audi Q7 and a Renault Clio, resulted in multiple people receiving minor injuries.
“The road was closed while the incident was dealt with and the vehicles recovered.

Submitting. The occupants must have cottoned on as the driver jumped out of the vehicle and ran off, so an officer swiftly hopped into the driver’s seat and drove it back to Thorpe Wood. Checks of the caravan’s number plate showed it was registered to an address in Lincolnshire and had actually been stolen half-an-hour before the team’s interception. The 4x4 was on cloned plates and was meant to be off the road, oh and cutting equipment was found in the boot! In less than two hours of it being stolen, the £20k caravan was returned to its rightful owner.
