THREE teenage girls walked into an ice cream shop, took drinks from a fridge and then left saying they were not going to pay.
But the Baskin-Robbins shop attendant gave chase and caught one offender.
One of the girls now 18, and soon to turn 19, went before a judge in Ipswich Children’s Court on Monday to be sentenced for her role in the bungled drinks robbery 16 months after it took place near Caboolture.
The young Ipswich woman pleaded guilty to attempted robbery in company at the Baskin-Robbins ice cream shop in Morayfield on September 19, 2019.
Prosecutor, legal officer with the Crown, Ms Worthington said the offender was the oldest of the trio and aged 17 years and seven months at the time.

Among the Pride head coach s goals was to restore quality to the Ipswich-based team that was forced to withdraw from last year s Women s National Premier Leagues (WNPL) competition. He has achieved that with an accomplished squad of 17 players preparing to kick off the 2021 season in March. I wanted to build the roster with good people, Gregson said, having taken over late last year. They are all extremely talented footballers but they are all great people, showing a very positive vibe for the club, which is what we want.

Subscriber only Two custodial corrections officers have been assaulted with a broom leading to the lockdown of Brisbane Women s jail. A female prisoner was out of her cell and wanted to go back inside and seriously assaulted two staff, a man and a woman, just before midday. Both staff were taken to hospital, with one with having an injury to their face and the other having a head injury.
Queensland Corrective Services can confirm that two officers were injured in an incident with a prisoner at Brisbane Women's Correctional Centre shortly.
