17:03 EDT, 30 July 2021 A troubled former Olympic gold medallist diver has been charged with stealing from a Brisbane Woolworths supermarket. Chantelle Lee Newbery, an ex-champion diver who won gold at the 2004 Athens Olympics, had her case mentioned at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday. According to court documents the 44-year-old allegedly stole consumables from a Woolloongabba Woolworths on July 14, The Courier Mail reported. Former Olympic diver Chantelle Lee Newbery has been charged with stealing from a Woolloongabba Woolworths in Brisbane  The former Olympian did not appear in court but sent a written request for the matter be adjourned adjourned until Monday. Date Time Child exploitation material chargesin Brisbane Detectives from Brisbane Inner West Child Protection Unit and Taskforce Argos today arrested a man in relation to the alleged the possession of child exploitation material (CEM). A search warrant was executed at an address in Chermside after police received advice the 41-year-old man, a high school teacher and sports coach, had been accessing CEM via a publicly available website overseas which provides end-to-end encrypted cloud storage. During the search police seized a number of electronic items, including a laptop and phone alleged to contain further CEM. Investigations are underway to determine the identity of the females depicted in the CEM and whether they may be linked to the man.
