Showing at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery alongside Beyond the Frame and Lips Touched with Blood, the exhibition draws upon photographs from the Martin Parr Foundation collection to show the “changing fabric of our cities, society and collective identities”. “The exhibition includes photographs which document moments of historical significance including the poll tax riot, the Aberfan mine disaster and most recently, the BLM movement,” say festival organisers. Documenting the city’s growing spaces By Lowie Trevena, Friday Aug 7, 2020 A project by the new Bristol Photo Festival is exploring the relationship growing produce and photography. Growing Spaces, which has been running since lockdown began in March 2020, is documenting the city’s produce growers. Looking at allotments and allotment holders, their histories and stories, the festival wants to document the visual and oral history of these people.
