Grand Valley State is seeking its first men’s national title and enters the meet ranked No. 1. The Lakers will enter the meet with 17 entries with nine sitting in the top-5. Athletes entering the meet as the top seed are
Dennis Mbuta in the 800 (1:49.07) and
Isaac Harding in the 5000 (13:47.08).
West Texas A&M heads into the NCAA meet at No. 2. Nine of the 10 entries for the Buffs of them sit among the top-5. Don’t blink, because you won’t want to miss
Benjamin Azamati. The national leader and NCAA DII record holder in the 100 (9.97) and 200 (20.20c/20.13A) is also part of the second-ranked 4×100 (40.04).

According to the NCAA Press Release, a grand total of 566 student-athletes will compete at the GVSU Lacrosse/Track & Field Stadium from May 27-29. That’s split right down the middle, with 283 men and 283 women officially qualifying for the Championships.

Grand Valley State and No. 2
West Texas A&M held steady in the National TFRI. The Lakers picked up two top-10 efforts at the Lee University Last Chance from
Caleb Futter in the steeplechase (No. 3, 8:44.38) and
Scott Spaanstra in the 800 (No. 6, 1:49.19).
Ashland gained two spots to move to No. 3 with the help of two top-10 performances.
Channing Phillips jumped from No. 18 to No. 9 after his 47.15 in the 400 in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Ian Johnson also clocked 1:49.84 in the 800 for the No. 10 time on the Descending Order List.
Fourth-ranked
Angelo State clocked two season bests in the relays. The Rams’ 4×100 got the baton around in 40.30c (40.18A), good for No. 5. The 4×400 also ran 3:11.17c (3:10.73A) to sit at No. 9.

Azusa Pacific continued to hold down the top spot for the fifth straight week. Chasing the Cougars are second-ranked
