Separation of valid and invalid votes and bundling of ballot papers was a day-long process
The process for counting of votes for the recently concluded Mahabubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad Graduates’ Constituency elections for the Telangana Legislative Council has begun as per schedule at the Saroornagar indoor stadium in L.B. Nagar on Wednesday.
At about 7 a.m., the strong rooms where the ballot boxes had been kept were opened in the presence of the Returning Officer Priyanka Ala, Election Observer Harpreet Singh, candidates and their agents, and the boxes were brought out and unlocked. GHMC Commissioner and Election Officer D.S. Lokesh Kumar too was present at the counting venue monitoring the arrangements, a statement from GHMC informed.

State TDP president and candidate for the Mahabubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad Graduates’ constituency L. Ramana criticised the State and Central governments for completely failing to devise employment opportunities for the youth.
“The TRS government could not fulfil its promise of unemployment allowance, while land, drug and sand mafia are ruling the State,” he said, while urging people to vote for him to get their issues voiced in the Legislative Council. He filed his nomination on Tuesday at the Returning Officer Priyanka Ala’s office in GHMC headquarters.

Monday, the penultimate day to file nominations for the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Graduates’ Constituency elections for the Legislative Council, saw hectic activity at the GHMC headquarters.
While the total sets of nominations filed have been 90 till date, 47 of them were filed on Monday alone by 26 candidates. Prominent candidates to file the papers on Monday were Surabhi Vani Devi from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), N. Ramchander Rao from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and G.Chinna Re
