HIT (from reader Nancy Guenther): To the government entities responsible for putting in a concrete circle in the roundabout at Olympic Park Circle and for re-striping the traffic lanes in the Dorsey interchange. They were so faded that it was difficult to tell just where the lanes were. Now it’s clear and much safer.

Learn to make chana masala and roti at BriarPatch Cooking Class

By Laura Petersen | Special to The Union Chef Shankari Arcot will teach an online cooking class for Briarpatch Food Co-op from from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 5. During the class called “So You Wanna Chana?” students will learn how to make their own naturally vegan chana masala and roti. A dish originating from the Indian subcontinent, chana masala is made from chickpea or chana. Roti is a round flatbread made from stone ground whole wheat flour, traditionally known as gehu ka atta, and water that is combined into a dough. Consumed in many countries worldwide, roti’s defining characteristic is that it is unleavened.
