Briar Cliff Review Are you interested in publishing? Help produce the Briar Cliff Review, an internationally acclaimed literary magazine created right here on The Cliff. For over 34 years, the Review has nurtured emerging writers and featured established authors from across the world. The Briar Cliff Review is a great experiential learning opportunity for students to experience what it would be like to be a part of a real editorial staff. The work is split among the team of writers and copy editors and the design team. The brunt of the work happens the week before the spring semester making it convenient for the students class schedules. The Artwork featured in the magazine also get the chance to be shown in the Sioux City Art Center.

Rachel Knuston Kobold is no stranger to working hard for what she wants. The desire to succeed has helped Rachel become the determined leader she is today. As Lead Graphic Designer in her Senior Capstone class, Rachel attributes her independence and drive to her mom. While we always had a roof over our heads and food on the table, my siblings and I had to work for the things we wanted. Having to work in high school to pay for things such as my car insurance and basketball gear, caused me to be independent and determined to succeed. says Rachel.

The Briar Cliff Review Reception Goes Virtual Apr 22, 2021 By Dept. of Marketing & Communications “The Briar Cliff Review: Volume 33” virtual reception will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 22 via Zoom. The reception will feature a welcome and gallery talks from the exhibition space and readings by several of the authors and poets featured in the “The Briar Cliff Review.” The exhibition of art displayed in the Briar Cliff Review will be open at the Sioux City Art Center on Friday, April 23 through Sunday, July 18. Founded in 1989, The Briar Cliff Review is an eclectic literary and art magazine with editors who are committed to fostering the best of both emerging and established writers and artists. Students and faculty of the English and Art departments work together to gain real world publishing experience.
