Burlington remains in the state’s “red zone” for a second week, as new cases of COVID-19 continue to rise. The designation indicates more than 10 cases per 100,000 over the previous two weeks plus a 5% positivity rate for new tests during that same time frame. The town reported a rate of 225 new cases over the past two weeks and the positivity rate for new tests over the past two weeks rose to 7.21%.
Avoid holiday travel
Anticipating a continued rise in case counts based on the post-Thanksgiving surge, Gov. Charlie Baker this week asked state residents to avoid travel and limit holiday gatherings to household members only.
