Last week, we got a long-awaited audit into the state’s controversial and ultimately aborted contract with Banjo, a company that touted its ability to gobble up vast amounts of public and state-held data on all of us and use it to fight crime.
Auditors found the Big Brother tech didn’t follow industry best practices and shouldn’t have been allowed access to our personal information. That’s the bad news.
Snow College Commencement Planned for May 6 and 7
Snow College will celebrate its 1,102 graduates during ceremonies on May 6-7. Ceremonies on both campuses will see modifications to accommodate current COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines. The Ephraim ceremony will be held outdoors in the Terry Foote Stadium on May 7. Guests will need to be seated by 2:30 PM, when the processional march begins. At 3:00, the commencement ceremony will begin. There will be a reception on the Robert Stoddard Field immediately following the ceremony. Students finishing their four-year degree will be recognized in a commencement convocation on May 6, and graduates from the Richfield Campus will be honored as well that day. The Richfield ceremony will begin at 11:00.

These are the contracts that, though rarely read, are required of all users of free social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and others.
The bill chews at the edges of issues that have riled some federal lawmakers, including Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee, that include allegations that social media companies are in the habit of unfairly suppressing or censoring conservative political content.
