Work has got underway to upgrade the facilities at Malton Station The £170,000 upgrade, which is being delivered by train company TransPennine Express (TPE), will see a brand new ticket office, waiting room and accessible unisex toilet installed at the Grade II listed station. Funding for the revamp has been made possible through TPE’s Customer and Communities Improvement Fund, which supports projects that will benefit communities across the North of England and into Scotland, and a £5k funding contribution from Ryedale District Council as part of their infrastructure and connectivity improvement plan for Malton and Norton. The ticket office will be closed while work is taking place, but staff will still be on hand to provide support and assistance to customers.

New Malden Station car park receives upgrade New Malden station car park has had a major overhaul to make it safer and easier for drivers and pedestrians to use. Working with Transport for London and Kingston Borough Council, South Western Railway has fully resurfaced and reconfigured the car park so that drivers can enter, park and exit as conveniently as possible. To improve safety, SWR and TfL relocated the station’s bus stop to an alternative location and put in place a new walking route which is set to help customers navigate the car park with ease. The £55,000 upgrade was funded mainly through SWR’s Customer and Communities Improvement Fund (CCIF), which supports projects that have a community benefit across the company’s network.
