3rd suspect in the fatal shooting of Clark County, Wash sheriff in custody after days-long manhunt

Smith/Getty Images) OAN Newsroom UPDATED 5:53 PM PT – Monday, July 26, 2021 Police located and arrested a third suspect in the fatal shooting of a Washington state sheriff’s deputy. Authorities said 26-year-old Guillermo Raya was taken into custody in Salem, Oregon on Sunday. Raya had reportedly been on the run since Friday evening after Drug Task Force Detective Jeremy Brown was shot and killed while conducting surveillance in his vehicle. A neighbor in the apartment complex where the incident occurred reported three gunshots. “They both came running around the corning and jumping in the car to get away,” the neighbor explained. “…She was wearing a black sweater and waving around a bag and that caused them to stop the car, back up, to go pick her up. Then they drove off and hung a right around this corner and just disappeared.”

Investigation into shooting death of Clark County Sheriff sergeant continues

Two suspects in custody; remaining suspect considered armed and dangerous VANCOUVER –The SW Washington Regional Major Crimes Team is continuing the investigation into the shooting death of Clark County Sheriff’s Office Detective Sergeant Jeremy Brown. Police are still searching for 26-year-old Guillermo O. Raya, who is considered armed and dangerous. A warrant has been issued for his arrest in connection with the shooting. Brown was in his vehicle conducting surveillance at 3508 NE 109th Avenue. Other units in the area on the same detail were unable to reach the deputy on the radio and around the same time a citizen heard what sounded like gunshots and saw a male inside a vehicle bleeding and called 9-1-1.
