Fire destroys cabin at George Rogers Clark home site in Clarksville

View Comments A cabin at the George Rogers Clark home site in Clarksville was destroyed by a fire early Thursday evening.  The fire at Falls of the Ohio State Park was reported around 6 p.m. along with three other brush fires in the area   including one about 150 yards from the cabin   making it challenging for all to be extinguished, Clarksville Fire Chief Brandon Skaggs said. The cabin overlooking the Ohio River was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived, he said. We re sad that we lost that cabin, but right now there s no injuries reported, firefighters or civilians, Skaggs said. So that s the positive.
