STEVENSVILLE â Stevensville is looking for two new council members after more turmoil hits Town Hall, although neither of the departing council members are citing politics as the reason they ve stepped aside.
Councilman Patrick Shourd submitted his resignation last week, saying family circumstances had changed and that while he valued the role of a councilman his primary obligation will always reside with my family.
Shourd had been appointed as a councilman following the 2019 shakeup which had decimated the council to a single member, losing a write-in campaign, and then being appointed to fill another vacancy last fall. The position is up for election this year.
Some high points require expert skill, a bit of luck, and probably some suffering. Not these. Here are 14 peaks high on views, low on effort that don’t play hard to get.

Waking up to a bird’s-eye view of the very best of the Superstitions Weavers Needle, Battleship Mountain, Geronimo Head, and Black Mesa Mountain spread out in a semi-circle from north to south will make the frontcountry feel farther away than it is. (The petroglyphs in the area add to the immersive feeling.) HAMILTON â Ravalli County s Clerk and Recorder is rejecting the latest petitions to launch another recall campaign against Stevensville Mayor Brandon Dewey.
The petitions were filed last week by Dewey s opponents, once again accusing him of authorizing city contracts and spending without approval of the Town Council.
That s similar to the complaint that was filed last year which resulted in a recall election which Dewey survived on a close vote in November.

STEVENSVILLE â Just 6-months after overcoming a recall, Stevensville Mayor Brandon Dewey is once again under attack from his opponents, who file papers challenging his handling of town business.
Dewey has been under a constant barrage of criticism from his detractors for his administrative decisions, especially when it comes to how the Town of Stevensville spends its money.
Last year, Dewey survived a prolonged legal and political attack when a recall move failed in November.
Now, his opponents are filing two more recall petitions, this time challenging two more city contracts. However, Dewey says the questioned actions weren t contracts, and had Town Council approval.
