A Brandon family has spent the majority of the past year dealing with both the COVID-19 pandemic and their daughter’s cancer diagnosis.
Sierra and Jeremy Bates said their two-year-old daughter, Maiya, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in February, just a few weeks before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Manitoba.
