Welcome to the Round 5 power rankings, and they’re electric if I do say so myself.
There are now only two undefeated teams, Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs, and there have been disappointing upsets and upsetting disappointments and everything in between.
18. North Melbourne Kangaroos Share
Being the only side without a win to their name is how they find themselves on the bottom of the power rankings here today. They showed some promise against an exceptionally inaccurate Geelong outfit down at GMHBA, but I suppose that’s all you can expect of North this year. Hopefully the games they are getting into the kids will bear fruit in 2022 and beyond.

St Kilda kicked the next three goals, with a pair to Dan Butler and one to Daniel McKenzie, and could have even claimed the lead if not for a handful of gettable misses.
St Kilda’s golden run persisted into the last quarter. Max King slotted his fifth goal after Liam Ryan ran too far, before Tim Membrey snapped truly as the Saints stole the lead and never looked back winning 15.12 (102) to 13.4 (82).
Jack Billings steered through his second from a tight angle, then Jack Steele kicked a captain’s goal to put his side in the box seat. A minute later, the win was sealed as another Jack this time Higgins blasted one home.

Jordan Lewis has advised St Kilda wingman and ex-Hawthorn teammate Brad Hill to get back to basics to help arrest his indifferent form.
Hill has received criticism after poor performances in the Saintsâ two losses to Melbourne and Essendon with his ball-use and work-rate called into question.
Lewis, who played alongside Hill during the Hawksâ premiership three-peat, says the additional pressure is something the former Docker wouldnât be used to.
âI donât think he would be dealing with it too well,â he said on
SEN Breakfast.
âHeâs such a likeable lad and he wants to be liked. He wants to be one of those players that ignites his team and be reliable. He loves that, thatâs what fuels his game.
