The vacant shop unit on Sunbridge Road AN empty city centre shop unit could soon become an Arabian take away if new plans are approved. 9A Sunbridge Road is just yards from Centenary Square and was most recently used as a candle shop. Now a planning application has been submitted to Bradford Council by Andy Mahmoodi to turn the unit into an Arabian hot food take away. If approved it will be the latest food business on that stretch of Sunbridge Road - which already has a fish and chip shop, Thai cafe and sandwich shop. The application includes a new extractor grill to the rear of the building. It says this work will enable a new tenant to occupy a retail unit that has been vacant for two years which will preserve and enhance the character and appearance of the Bradford City Centre Conservation Area and the host building.
An artist s impression of the re-branded Yorkshire Bank PLANS to re-brand a city centre bank have been approved by Bradford Council. Virgin Money recently announced that all the banks that fall within its ownership, including Yorkshrie Bank, will be rebranded by Spring 2021. Late last year a planning application for new signage at the Yorkshire Bank on Broadway was submitted to Bradford Council. It would replace the blue Yorkshire Bank signage with a deep red Virgin Money branding. The branch lies within the Bradford City Centre Conservation Area, and is a short distance from numerous listed buildings, meaning a full planning application was required.
