THE Office for National Statistics (ONS) wants to make sure that everyone in Bradford can be counted as part of Census 2021. As Census Day approaches on March 21, four census support centres in Bradford will be offering help to residents to make sure everyone can complete their census form online or on paper. Julia Armstrong Census Engagement Manager for Bradford SE, said: “We are so pleased that the people of Bradford will have this extra support to make Census 2021 a success. It is crucial for the future of Bradford district that we can make sure everyone is included and offering local help and support will make a big difference.

THE final award goes to Maggie Pearse for her dedicated, determined and tireless work with those seeking asylum in Bradford. Maggie, together with her husband Barry, is one of the founding members of BIASAN - Bradford Immigration & Asylum Support & Advice Network - formed in 1999. The group was launched at the ‘World in a City’ event at Bradford Festival to welcome newly arrived asylum seekers dispersed to Bradford. Speaking on behalf of all at BIASAN, Amanda Mortimer said: Maggie is the main driving force here – as coordinator, motivator and facilitator, she aims to bring people together from many countries, cultures and backgrounds to help each other, offering friendship, practical and emotional support.
