A man running for DeKalb Township Supervisor is challenging a decision by the township to not certify him for the ballot.
Jim Luebke filed a Statement of Economic Interest before the designated deadline, but the accompanying receipt of his filing was not in his packet by that date. Luebke said Township Clerk Lynne Kunde initially approved his candidacy after verifying the Statement was submitted on time.
“She determined that I had substantially complied, and that she would certify me, and per her resignation letter, she received notice that the township and she would be sued if she did so, he said, and so then she resigned, having not certified anyone rather than do something she thought was wrong.”

Perhaps lost in the understandable frustration over losing the final three games of 2020 is the fact that three of the Gators’ four losses were by one score or less. Given how Dan Mullen treated the bowl as an exhibition and almost something of a glorified spring game, you could even argue that the three true losses where the team was trying its best were all close.
Either way, it’s a reversal of fortunes for Mullen as UF’s head coach. He won all of the first five close games he was involved in and six of his first seven. Then last fall he lost three in a row.

Levante in the Westbury Classic (Ellerslie R3)
Wins don t come much bigger than that of Levante s over the ditch at Ellerslie in the G2 Westbury Classic. The Ken Kelso-trained daughter of Proisir looked like she was in all sorts of bother at the 600m mark when dead-last in the 10-horse field, with plenty of lengths to make up and seemingly having hit a flat spot. But Collett then swung her out to the middle of the track upon straightening and asked Levante for the ultimate effort. It took a bit of riding to get her going but once she hit top gear the star Kiwi mare launched out of the ground to sweep past her rivals and score a surprisingly soft win
