(Getty Images) OAN Newsroom UPDATED 4:12 PM PT – Friday, July 9, 2021 A 12-year-old boy from Louisiana is being hailed a hero after fatally shooting an armed intruder who was threatening his mother. Authorities have said the assailant, 32-year-old Brad LeBlanc, forced the boy’s mother into her Clinton, Louisiana home at gunpoint last week. When a struggle ensued, the young boy shot the suspect with a hunting rifle. First responders transported LeBlanc to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Reports said two suspects have been charged in connection with the home invasion. Johnathon Barker was charged with second-degree murder and Jennifer Bond was arrested for accessory after the fact.

East Feliciana Parish Sheriff Jeffery Travis said in a statement that his office received a report of a shooting at 5807 Winchester Lane, east of Clinton, around 7:21 a.m. on June 30. A person forced entry into the home and had a gun, and “at some point” was fatally shot by a resident, the statement said. The sheriff’s office later shared a news report on its Facebook page confirming that a 12-year-old boy had shot Brad LeBlanc, 32, during the incident.

LOUISIANA An armed suspect who broke into a family’s home in Louisiana and threatened a mother June 30, near Clinton, was fatally shot by the woman’s 12-year-old son, authorities said. There were three suspects involved in the crime. The deceased suspect was identified as Brad LeBlanc. According to East Feliciana Parish Sheriff Jeffery Travis, the man was armed with a handgun when he encountered the unnamed woman outside her house the morning of the incident, Fox News reported. LeBlanc, 32, forced the mother inside where a struggle continued. Her unidentified son believed his mother’s life was imperil and fired at LeBlanc with a hunting rifle, Travis said. The violent intruder died at a local hospital.
