Some 36 children from 13 families were served during this year’s Cops & Kids event on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Officials from the Preble County Sheriff’s Office, Eaton Police Department, West Alexandria, and Gratis took part in the annual shopping excursion made possible by the generous support of local businesses and other donors.
EATON The pandemic could not stop the Preble County Fraternal Order of Police from helping support local children and families during its annual Cops & Kids shopping event.
For the 11th consecutive year, law enforcement from around Preble County converged on a local department store to help area children do some Christmas shopping. The event took place at Walmart again this year, on Wednesday evening, Dec. 9.

TWP. Rita and Roger Dush held onto each other at the doors of the emergency room at Community Hospital. I love you, Roger said, wanting to comfort his wife of 37 years before he was whisked away by hospital staff.
The situation was beyond worrisome. Roger was considered high-risk for COVID-19 because of underlying medical conditions. The virus had come on quickly and his body was under full attack.

Brendan Cochran was in his mother’s womb when he technically first entered the Roaring Fork Theater community.
“I have known Brendan since right before he was born,” said Brad Moore, staff member and adjunct faculty for the theater program at Colorado Mountain College. I directed his mother in a show when she was pregnant with him. So I was Brendan’s, if not the first director, then among the first,” Moore said.
With show biz running through his veins, it almost seems like Cochran was destined to help lead the theater community in the Roaring Fork Valley.
