Holly Chavez had some free time during the COVID-19 pandemic.
To pass that time, she kept busy creating masks for her friends, family and Aberdeen residents. Once she supplied those folks, she turned to the Aberdeen Police Department.
âIt was to keep my mind going because when youâre on furlough, itâs a little tough. We were going through my husbandâs cancer treatments, so there was a lot on our plate,â Chavez said. âIt was just something that kept me going.â
Chavez wanted to make masks for all of the departmentâs officers. She suspected that would be from 10 to 12. Turns out, there are 52 officers.
