Powerhouse Will Hobbs Reveals Advice From Brodie Lee Following Debut Match Against Orange Cassidy
Powerhouse Will Hobbs was on a recent episode of the
Talk Is Jericho podcast where he discussed his beginnings in AEW. He recalled getting a text from QT Marshall to appear on
“I get ended up getting a text from QT, and I thought somebody was ripping me,” Hobbs admitted. “I looked at it, put my phone down [and] answered it a couple hours later, and it said, ‘Hey this QT Marshall from AEW. Are you local to the Jacksonville area?’ I said, ‘No, but I’ll find a way to get out there.’ So Markus Mac, he actually is the promoter and owner of All Pro Wrestling, and I believe he reached out to Cody. And I believe Cody remembered me from the couple shows he did in the Bay Area.”
Erick Redbeard got some new ink, and revealed that it pays tribute to his late friend and tag partner Brodie Lee. Redbeard posted to Twitter with an image of the tattoo, which is a sledgehammer (in apparent reference to their Bludgeon Brothers gimmick) and the word “Bróðir” on the hammer’s head in a runic style.
Bróðir is Old Norse for “brother.” You can see the post with the photo below, as well as Redbeard’s wife Leah explaining the tattoo. Redbeard made an appearance for AEW on the Brodie Lee Celebration episode of Dynamite on December 30th.
State of the AEW Women s Division: December 2020 By Jericu on Jan 3, 2021, 1:40pm EST 8
As we enter a new year, we find ourselves looking back on what has easily been the best month for the AEW Women s Division since I started watching Dynamite regularly back in May of this year. Was it great? Well, no. There still has yet to be more than a single women s match on an episode of Dynamite, and the two times it wasn t in the death spot of the seventh quarter was on the Winter is Coming special on the second and the Brodie Lee Celebration of Life on Dec. 30. In both occasions the final match + any following segment was at least 30 minutes long and thus took over the seventh quarter itself.
