The Prince Albert Royals split their road double header against the White Butte Broncos on Saturday in Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League AA action.
The Royals lost the first matchup of the day in a tight 9-8 game but redeemed themselves later that afternoon with a commanding 20-8 victory against the White Butte Broncos. After this weekend’s double header, the Royals move to 12-7-1 on the year.
In the first game, the Royals were holding on before the Broncos went ahead in the bottom of the sixth inning after the game was tied at eight a piece.
The Royals finished the game with nine hits. Ben Lefebvre, Jack Mortimer, and Brady Robin each contributed numerous hits for Royals.

Home game with Saskatoon Athletics set for Tuesday night
The first road trip of the season for the Prince Albert Royals Under-18 team was a tale of two games.
After seeing their eight-game win streak snapped on Sunday afternoon in a 7-1 loss to the host Regina Pacers, the Royals rebounded with a 7-3 triumph in the second half of the doubleheader at Pacer Park.
“I thought we were solid and played very well defensively in the first game, but we just couldn’t hit the ball and that was the difference,” Royals coach Ken Malenfant said. “It was a closer game than what the final score ended up being, but their pitcher (Josh Curtin) was pitching really well.
