Friday was a rough night for the Mountain Home High School basketball teams, as they were swept at Greenwood.
The Bulldogs scored the winning basket with just a few ticks left of the boys’ game to get past the Bombers 49-48. Mountain Home had the lead for much of the game, but the margin never got into double digits. Greenwood went on top late in the final period on a layup by Braden Stein. The Bombers got the lead back on a jumper in the right corner by Wyatt Gilbert, but on the Bulldogs’ next possession, Sam Forbus drove into the paint and shot a tough layup. The ball bounced off the front of the iron and fell through the net with 3.8 seconds left. Mountain Home had one more chance to win the game, as Dawson Tabor threw a cross-court inbound pass to Reed Ellison. Ellison quickly got the ball to Luke Proctor in the left corner, but his jumper came up short, and the Bulldogs escaped with a one-point win.
