Citing improved COVID-19 numbers, the Franconia Board of Selectmen will not pursue a voluntary shutdown of dine-in restaurants.
During a virtual meeting Monday, Chair Jill Brewer said the virus transmission rate in Grafton County had dipped below the âred zoneâ of 25 cases per 100,000, making the voluntary shutdown unnecessary.
âIâm very comfortable holding off on that and just keeping an eye on the data,â Brewer said.
The Select Board raised the matter at their previous meeting on Dec. 14, during a regional COVID spike.
They drafted a letter that asked restaurants to consider temporary dining room shutdowns, and limit their service to curbside, take-out and outdoor seating.
