The Orthopedic and Advanced Manufacturing Training Center at Ivy Tech Warsaw recently received 1,999 bars of density medical grade polyethylene, worth more than $100,000, from Zimmer Biomet, according to a news release.

Court completes Trine University degree

Alexandra Court of Ocean View completed requirements for a degree from Trine University at the end of the Spring 2021 semester, the university announced this week. Court earned a doctoral degree in physical therapy at Trine. Trine University is a private, co-educational, residential institution, offering associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in the Allen School of Engineering & Computing, Ketner School of Business, College of Graduate & Professional Studies, College of Health Professions, Franks School of Education, Jannen School of Arts & Sciences and Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences. It is a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association and offers 36 intercollegiate sports, 27 of which compete in NCAA Division III. Trine operates a 450-acre main campus in Angola, Ind., and the College of Health Professions in Fort Wayne, with education centers in Detroit, Mich., and Phoenix, Ariz., and programs available worldwide through TrineOnl

Trine recognizes distinguished students for Class of 2021

The university also has named Distinguished Students from each of its academic schools. Alexander Pessell The Robert B. Stewart Award is presented to the graduate who most clearly exemplifies the traditions and values of Trine University through achievement in scholarship, leadership and citizenship. Each academic school at Trine nominates a graduating senior for this award; Pessell represented the Allen School of Engineering and Computing. Pessell maintained a 4.0 grade point average during his time at Trine. He completed a research experience for undergraduates during the summer of 2019 at the University of Maryland, and has been involved with research for Blaire Biomedical, a local company developing a handheld device that performs blood tests when linked to a smartphone.
