Arrest made on charges of evading, resisting arrest and family violence

The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Tuesday morning: On Monday, December 21, 2020, at approximately 1:37 a.m. officer’s Roberto Rodriguez and Trever Sears were assisting first responders with a medical call in the 2100 block of 6th St.  When the officers exited the residence, they heard a disturbance taking place in the front yard, a couple houses down. Officers responded to that area and contacted a juvenile male who was standing with his mother beside a gold SUV.  The male was identified, and officers learned that he was just involved in a physical altercation with his brother.  The brother, 17 -year-old Devontray Delishaun Ross, was in the passenger seat when officers approached him. 

ATM Break-in Being Investigated by Early PD and FBI

An undetermined amount of money was stolen from an ATM at MC Bank in Early early Tuesday morning.  The following statement was released by Early Chief of Police David Mercer. During the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 22, at approximately 4:55 am an Early Police Department officer observed a suspicious vehicle behind the Mills County State Bank in the 400 block of Early Blvd. The officer was also notified of an ATM alarm at MC Bank about the same time. Officers located a vehicle that had been used to break into the ATM machine behind the bank. An undetermined amount of money was taken from the ATM.  The vehicle had been left behind at the scene. Officers from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Brownwood Police Department assisted in searching the area but no one was located.

Arrest made after months-long investigation into sale of meth in Brown County

The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Thursday: On Wednesday, Dec. 16 at approximately 11:45 a.m. officers with the Brownwood Police Department, Early Police Department and Brown County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search/arrest warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Northline Dr. in Early. This warrant is the culmination of a months-long investigation into the sale of methamphetamine in our county. The resident of that home, 29 year-old Jasmine Dezarea Cobbin was reported to be selling methamphetamine and other various drugs from the residence at all hours of the day and night. During the execution of the warrant, suspected illegal substances were discovered which included over ½ an ounce of Ecstasy, approximately 5 ounces of Marijuana, under 2 grams of Methamphetamine and multiple grams of over a dozen different prescription pills.

Man Charged with Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon

According to a news release from the Brownwood Police Department: On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at approximately 12:15 am, Brownwood Police Communications received a phone call from a male who believed someone was trying to kill him. Officer Shade Tidwell responded to the home in the 500 block of Victoria Street and met with a male resident outside the home.  While standing with this male, Officer Tidwell overheard a faint, female voice from inside the residence asking for help.  The front door was open and the female voice continued asking for help and stated that she was stabbed.  Officer Tidwell entered through the open door and again heard the female inside an interior room, state that “he has a knife to me”.  A male voice inside the same room responded ‘yeah’ to her claim.
