BRUNSWICK COUNTY – Brunswick County Schools is considering transitioning middle and high schools to daily in-person instruction.
In the event the board of education approves a transition to Plan A, the district is asking families to indicate their learning style preference for the rest of the school year.
The district has opened a survey for families who want to move from the hybrid model to 100% remote or from 100% remote to in-person instruction five days a week.
The survey is available
here through Thursday at 5 p.m.
Students currently learning remotely full-time do not need to participate in the survey if they wish to continue under Plan C. Additionally, students who are currently learning under the hybrid model do not need to response to the survey if they are are fine with an automatic transition to five days of face-to-face class.
BRUNSWICK COUNTY – Brunswick County Schools will dismiss early Thursday due to the threat of severe weather.
High schools will release at noon, middle schools at 12:15 p.m. and elementary schools at 1 p.m.
“This will ensure the buses complete their routes in safe conditions,” a district spokesperson said.
The National Weather Service is forecasting widespread, intense storms March 18 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - Brunswick County Schools provided an update Friday on its efforts to install ionized purification systems to its buildings and buses.
As of Friday, the Bipolar Ionization Systems have been installed in 15 of the school systemâs approximately 150 school buses. BCS officials say that the systems will be installed in about 15 buses each week.
