MUMBAI: Former city police commissioner Param Bir Singh will not be arrested till May 20 in connection with an FIR based on a complaint by police officer Bhimrao Ghadge, the state government told the Bombay high court on Thursday.
Special counsel for the state Darius Khambata with public prosecutor gave the assurance on a petition by Singh, who has sought quashing of the “malafide” criminal case. The state will file its reply by May 20 to his petition.
Senior counsel Mahesh Jethmalani, appearing for Singh, said the investigation is “completely illegal and amounts to reinvestigation which cannot be undertaken without court nod”.

MUMBAI: Maharashtra government on Thursday informed Bombay high court that former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh would not be arrested till May 20 in connection with an FIR registered against him by Thane police based on a complaint by police officer Bhimrao Ghadge.
Special counsel for the state Darius Khambata with public prosecutor gave the assurance on a petition filed by the IPS officer who sought quashing of the criminal case on ground that it is malafide . The state will file its reply by May 20 to his petition.

MUMBAI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) Dr Sujay Vikhe Patil on Monday filed an intervention application before the Aurangabad Bench of Bombay high court. Through his counsel Shirish Gupte, he stated that he had purchased only 1200 Remdesivir vials, not 10,000.
He said these 1200 brought on a chartered flight in 15 boxes, from Chandigarh to Shirdi and 500 were sent from Pharma Deal, Sadashiv Peth Pune directly to the Civil Surgeon.
The HC was hearing a petition filed by an agriculturist Arun Kadu, 70, and others alleging “illegal” procurement and distribution of 10,000 Remdesivir vials from Pharma companies of Vikhe Patil, MP from Ahmednagar.
