A Janesville based medical isotope production company is expanding in Europe. Shine Medical Technologies has chosen a city in the Netherlands for its European operation base. Company officials say Shine’s European facility will be focused initially on the production of molybdenum-99, which is a diagnostic isotope relied on for procedures to identify heart disease, cancer, and other conditions. SHINE CEO Greg Piefer says the selection of the location for their new European facility is another demonstration of the company’s commitment to being the world leader in the production of vital medical isotopes.
