Dollar Bill gets 15 years for drugs, firearms Staff reports A Beaumont man has been sentenced to federal prison for firearms violations in the Eastern District of Texas. Rustin Chase McKinsey, also known as “Dollar Bill,” 35, pleaded guilty on Jan. 6, 2021, to discharging a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and being a felon in possession of a firearm.  McKinsey was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison recently by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone. “Felons who possess firearms, and certainly those who use firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking or violent crimes, are among the most dangerous members of our society,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Nicholas Ganjei.  “These criminals will learn the hard way that violent drug trafficking will be met with swift and decisive action by law enforcement.”

Former Classmate Charged in 1995 Murder of Mary Catherine Edwards A former classmate has been charged in the 26-year-old case of Mary Catherine Edwards, who was raped and murdered in 1995. Edwards was a teacher who lived alone in Beaumont, Texas. She was last seen on the evening of Jan. 13, 1995. Her parents discovered her body in the bathroom after going to her house to check on her when she didn’t respond to phone calls. Authorities determined she had been sexually assaulted and killed. A spokesperson from the Beaumont Police Department confirmed to Beaumont Enterprise that the suspect was arrested in Ohio. Court documents obtained by KFDM-TV identified the suspect as 61-year-old Clayton Bernard Foreman who currently lives in Franklin County, Ohio.

Court documents are revealing the name and new details about a man jailed in Ohio and charged with the 1995 cold case murder of a Beaumont teacher. Investigators say DNA evidence helped crack the case and led to the arrest of Clayton Bernard Foreman, 61, in Franklin County, Ohio, charged with the murder of Mary Catherine Edwards. Jail records indicate he was taken into custody April 29. Beaumont Police and prosecutors are working to extradite him to Texas. I give credit to the Beaumont Police Department and I m so proud of Chief Jim Singletary and his department for the breakthrough in this cold case, said District Attorney Bob Wortham.
