Beaumont woman indicted on multiple charges after crashing into family of three in Beaumont neighborhood

BEAUMONT, Texas A 21-year-old woman has been indicted for multiple counts of accident involved injury or death and intoxication assault.
Kenlie Davis, 21, of Beaumont, was arrested after police say the car she was driving struck two adults and a child in a west end Beaumont neighborhood on July 29, 2020.
When officers arrived on the scene on Oak Trace Drive, they found the three victims in the street and an unoccupied vehicle in the grass nearby, according to the release.

On Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at 11:53 a.m. Beaumont Police responded to a victim of a stabbing in the 600 block of Sixth street.
Officers located the victim lying in the 2100 block of Mcfaddin near an apartment complex. Beaumont EMS was summoned and pronounced the victim deceased. The victim was identified as Creighton K. Landrio, age 48 from Beaumont.
While on scene, officers located the suspect involved and detained him. The suspect was identified as Donald Bryan Cooper, age 37 from Beaumont. Cooper was transported to the station to speak with detectives.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that there was an ongoing disturbance between Landrio and Cooper, leading to a physical altercation, during which Landrio was stabbed. Detectives are still continuing the investigation and are speaking with witnesses.

BEAUMONT, Texas The Beaumont Police Department has located a missing 75-year-old Beaumont woman.
Versie Jean Owens, 75, who has Alzheimer’s, was last seen at about 10 a.m. Tuesday morning leaving the 1700 block of Guy Circle in Beaumont in a gray 2015 Toyota Camry according to a Facebook post by the Beaumont Police Department.
The car s Texas license plate number is JVP-5750.
Owens, who is black, is about 5 3 tall and weighs about 195 pounds according to police.
She was wearing a red shirt, blue blazer and a flowered skirt with black shoes according to the post.

Wednesday, February 03, 2021, at 1:58 a.m., Officers patrolling the area of the 1400 block of Washington attempted to stop a stolen truck that was involved in Aggravated Robberies.
The driver fled from Officers and crashed in the 3000 block of Avenue E. The lone occupant of the vehicle surrendered and was identified as DEVIEN COHEA, a 17 year old Port Arthur resident.
Cohea was in possession of a stolen pistol at the time of his arrest. Cohea was transported to the Beaumont Police Department to speak with Detectives. While speaking with investigators, he admitted to numerous crimes.
After his interview with Detectives, Cohea was arrested for two counts of Aggravated Robbery ($250,000 bond each), Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle ($25,000 bond), Theft of a Firearm ($25,000 bond), Unlawful Carrying a Weapon ($1,500) and Evading Arrest or Detention with a Motor Vehicle ($50,000)
A man who escaped from jail in Jefferson County is behind bars again.
Sheriff Zena Stephens told KFDM in Beaumont that Robert Lake, 38, who escaped from the Jefferson County Jail complex late last week was captured on Saturday morning on Cable Street, just north of Downtown Beaumont after he jumped out of a stolen truck and attempted to run across Interstate 10.
Stephens said lake, who was being held on felony probation violation, escaped from the jail complex on Highway 69 shortly after 5:00 on Friday when he climbed onto the roof of the jail and then jumped over a fence near the visitation area.
