Man jailed for 21 years for Defiling Step-daughter

Kasungu Senior Resident Magistrate has sentenced 45 year-old Madalitso Nkhoma to 21 years imprisonment with hard labour for defiling his 12-year-old stepdaughter. State Prosecutor, Sub Inspector James Muyira told the court that Nkhoma committed the crime on the morning of October 23, 2020, when the victim’s mother went to the market to sell doughnuts within the village, leaving the girl with her 2- year -old brother. The mother noticed that her daughter was crying the following day due to vaginal pain and upon interrogating her, she revealed that her stepfather had had sexual intercourse with her when she was away for business and after the action, he gave her 10,000 Kwacha so that she should not reveal to anyone.
