Police have identified the 37-year-old man as Mark Lutgenau, who was believed to be armed with a firearm. However, there is no known specific threat against members of the community. A police spokesman said the domestic violence incident occurred on Monday night at Gannon Way, Upper Coomera, where a Mr Lutgenau fled officers who attended. Police said nobody was physically harmed. On Tuesday morning, police negotiators were at an address near Ormeau State School in search of the man.

A busy school has been locked down amid a frantic search for a man who may be armed with a gun. Queensland Police made an emergency declaration on Tuesday morning during the hunt for a man wanted on domestic violence matters.   Officers were called to a home in Upper Coomera on the Gold Coast on Monday night following reports of a disturbance, before the man fled the scene. No one was injured, but an exclusion zone was established by police on Tuesday which includes Ormeau State School in Pimpama.
