Faith leaders have described how the fabric of communities have been “shattered” by Covid-19.
They talked about the link between religion, rootedness and wellbeing at Ham&High: Our Community s Mental Health event last Friday (May 21).
Anchored by Ham&High editor André Langlois, those taking part in the discussion were Mother Carol Barrett Ford, from St Martin s Church, Gospel Oak; Bibi Khan, president of Wightman Road Mosque; and Rabbi David Mason, of Muswell Hill Synagogue.

As the grip of the pandemic on society eases, a mental health event hosted by the Ham&High will signpost support that is out there, as well as exploring areas including laughter, religion and the long-term effects of Covid.
Ham&High: Our Community s Mental Health takes place on Friday, May 21 and is free to attend for anyone who registers through Eventbrite.
The events, which will be held as Zoom webinars, will include expert advice, panel discussions and some entertainment along the way.
The event is supported by Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust, Thrive LDN and SANE.
9am – Where we are and what help is out there?
Experts will discuss and take questions on the mental health challenges we face and, vitally, the support that is out there. On the panel will be clinical psychologist Dr Chinea Eziefula, who is Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust s lead for long-term health conditions in Camden; Dr Phil Moore, chair of the NHS Mental Health Commissioners Network and co-chair of London’s Suicide Prevention Group; and Highgate s Marjorie Wallace, founder of the mental health charity SANE.
