Penang ready to hit the electronic road to China for PVRTC 2021 Virtual Forum
Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau(PCEB)’s inaugural Penang Virtual Roadshow to China 2021 (PVRTC 2021), taking place 18-20 May, will aim to showcase 26 of Penang’s top tourism and business events products to its key regional China markets in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Chengdu.
PVRTC 2021 will run a virtual forum on each day of the show, which is designed to bring together travel and business events leaders from both China and Penang to discuss future trends and the post-Covid-19 travel and business events landscape.
There will also be a forum each day designed to shed light on the topics, respectively, of safe international travel, China incentive market trends and the need for corporate and association meetings.
Penang keeps its events vision on 2030, as CVB reports 156 events held in 2020
Despite the halt on international travel and limitations for business events, the Malaysian state of Penang recorded a total of 156 events with 19,283 participants and 48,963 room nights in 2020.
The figures were announced by the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) at a short ceremony followed by an Iftar dinner event The Wembley hotel.
The PCEB 2020 Business Events Penang Annual Review was attended by CEO Ashwin Gunasekeran; The Rt. Hon. Chow Kon Yeow (chief minister of Penang); The Hon. Yeoh Soon Hin (PCEB chairman and Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy) and other legislators.
