Two men have died in separate single-vehicle crashes in less than 24 hours.
Queenslandâs road toll this year has risen to more than double that of last yearâs, with 32 lives lost as of Monday morning, compared with the 15 people killed by the same time in 2020.
Police pleaded with drivers last week after releasing the shocking Christmas and New Year road safety figures.
In the latest tragedy, a truck driver died in Mount Perry, in the North Burnett region about 110 kilometres west of Hervey Bay, just before 9am on Monday.

A car that crashed into a tree at Pacific Pines resulted in a single-car rollover leaving one person dead and another two people fighting for their lives before being rushed to hospital.

Emergency crews, including police, paramedics, critical care teams and fire and emergency arrived on scene at Pitcairn Way and Universal Street, Pacific Pines just after 5am. It s reported the man s vehicle swerved off the road and struck a roadside pole, entrapping the man for some time before he was freed.
