MEIL imports medical oxygen for Telangana free of cost
The first batch of three tanks landed at the Begumpet Air Force Station here on Saturday, and the remaining eight will arrive in a few days.

HYDERABAD: Amid the acute shortage of medical oxygen in hospitals across the country, Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) has imported 11 cryogenic tanks from Bangkok in Thailand, to be provided to Telangana State free of cost. These tanks will help to increase the supply of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) to hospitals.

Ferrying thousands of passengers in city buses for years was a different experience than bringing in oxygen tankers from Odisha, say drivers of the State Road Transport Corporation, who drove back the tankers carrying medical grade liquified oxygen to the State. Oxygen, also called gold these days, to save thousands of lives during the pandemic.
On Thursday night, 10 experienced TSRTC drivers from the Greater Hyderabad Zone were hand-picked to drive back the tankers loaded with liquid oxygen from Angul, Odisha. They were taken to Begumpet Airport, and on Friday morning flown in two Indian Air Force transport aircraft along with the empty tankers to Odisha.

Hyderabad, April 26 : Telangana on Monday received five tankers loaded with medical oxygen from Odisha, and despatched them to various hospitals in the state treating Covid-19 patients.
Out of nine empty tankers which were airlifted from Hyderabad to Odisha on Friday, five returned with oxygen from the Rourkela Steel Plant of the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL).
The tankers were sent to the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS), the District Hospital, King Kothi, the Chest Hospital and Are Hospital in Cherlappaly, all in and around Hyderabad and to government hospitals in Khammam and Karimnagar.

Hyderabad, April 25 : Telangana has shown the way to the country by using war planes to airlift oxygen tankers, the state government said on Sunday.
It claims to be working to the maximum of public welfare and in many cases embarked on innovative ideas to get the work done. At a time when the corona is booming, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has once again launched an ideal innovative initiative for the country with the aim of saving the people in times of need in the face of increased demand for oxygen to corona patients, said the Chief Minister s Office (CMO).
