Thiruvananthapuram: Popular police officer-turned-Malayalam film actor P.C. George passed away at a private hospital in Thrissur on Friday, said industry sources.
He was 74 and suffering from illness.
George had retired from the rank of SP of police and was known for the various villain roles he played.
However, he began his acting in the theatre and soon graduated to Malayalam films.
His film career got the break after he was posted in the state capital city in the early eighties and his career graph went steep after his stellar performance in the Mammootty starrer- Sangham in 1988 and since then he had no reason to look back.
The actor was 74 and succumbed to his illnesses
He has acted in more than 75 films

P C Goerge, a MLA from Janapakshan (Secular) Party representing the Poonjar constituency in Kerala, has made a controversial statement demanding India to be declared as a Hindu Rashtra, reports onmanorama
While addressing a gathering held at Thodupuzha in Idukki district which was organized by a non-profit, Human Resource Development Society (HRDS), P C George said that India should be declared as a Hindu nation to counter terrorism.
He also alleged that the United Democratic Front (UDF) and the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala are supporting terrorists in order to make India an Islamic state by 2030.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India], January 22 (ANI): Kerala Assembly on Friday reprimanded Poonjar MLA PC George for his remarks against the Kerala nun rape survivor who was allegedly raped by Bishop Franco Mulakkal.
Speaker said in the Assembly that the action was taken on the basis of a report by the privilege and ethics committee.
Kerala Women s Commission chairperson M C Josephine had submitted a complaint to Assembly Speaker against P C George for his alleged comment against the nun. The complaint stated that the MLA had made a derogatory comment against a rape victim.
