After arriving in the area, officers located an injured male on Dewey Avenue with three gunshot wounds.
Investigators said the shooting was not a random act of violence and the people involved are known to each other.

Binghamton Police were called to Chapin Street at North Street at around 3 p.m. with a report of gunfire.
Authorities say officers determined that approximately five shots from a 9mm handgun had been fired at the intersection.
Police say two suspects were seen fleeing north on Chapin Street.

Shots hit an uninvolved, occupied vehicle that was stopped at the red light in the eastbound lane of Main Street at Chapin Street but, fortunately, no one was injured.
The suspects are described as thin, young Black males.

City Police reports shots were fired in what is known as Commercial Alley that runs parallel to State Street between the parking garage and Court Street.
Few details are being released but authorities say shots rang out at around quarter of 11 Sunday night, April 4 and a couple injuries were reported.
No other information about the number of shots fired, number of people involved or severity of injuries was available.

As of 2:30 in the morning April 5 there was no indication of any problems in the area with no evidence of crime tape or police presence. The only activity was a woman taking her dog out.
