CARES Act funding helps Byesville FD acquire two newer squads

The Byesville Volunteer Fire Department is in the process of replacing an older rescue squad with two newer ones. The $56,000 cost is covered by the CARES Act funding.
Noah Bacon, assistant fire chief and firefighter, said there is a definitely need in the community for the addition of a second rescue squad to the department s fleet.
In 2020, the department made 406 runs with the one squad, most of those were local Byesville calls.
The department started handling squad calls when they added the first rescue squad in October 2019. During the first few months of having the vehicle they provided only first response services.
Driver escaped uninjured despite extensive damage to vehicle

BYESVILLE A Senecaville woman injured in a one-vehicle accident on Country Club Road Monday was transported to Southeastern Med for treatment of multiple injuries.
Megan Carpenter, 30, was transported by United Ambulance to the Cambridge hospital where she was treated in the emergency department.
A nursing supervisor said Carpenter was released following treatment.
The driver of the vehicle, Tasha Huffman, 27, Cadiz, was not injured.
According to the Cambridge post of the State Highway Patrol, a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Huffman was traveling south on Country Club Road (County Road 345) at approximately 1:59 p.m. when it slid off the right side of the roadway.
