PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) - On Friday, Pascagoula High School had a blood drive with COVID-19 in mind. The âGoula Give Hopeâ drive may have been different than other years with social distancing and safety protocols, but the purpose has stayed the same.
The goal of the student council here at Pascagoula High School is to collect 200 pints. But the lessons learned go way beyond having a successful blood drive. Thereâs a lot to do to put on a blood drive, and not all of it is about blood.

NEW YORK, New York Sarah Thomas is no stranger to making history and she’s about to do it again.
Thomas, a Pascagoula native and former star athlete at Pascagoula High School, was announced this week as part of the all-star officiating crew which will work Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Fla., on Feb. 7, the NFL announced Tuesday.
“Sarah Thomas has made history again as the first female Super Bowl official,” said Troy Vincent, NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations. “Her elite performance and commitment to excellence has earned her the right to officiate the Super Bowl. Congratulations to Sarah on this well-deserved honor.”
The Pascagoula community helped honor Abby Bosarge, a Pass Christian teen battling acute myeloid leukemia, by holding a blood drive earlier today. Singing River Health System and the all-girls community service group Jeune Esprit sponsored the six-hour event at the Pascagoula Recreation Center.
