Students share how COVID-19 has impacted their mental health with community leaders, elected officials

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – More than a dozen students from schools across Grand Rapids spoke Friday about how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted their mental during the annual KidSpeak forum.
The Grand Rapids Mayor’s Youth Council hosted the 10 a.m. virtual event with Our Community’s Children that gave young people the opportunity to speak to a listening panel of elected officials and community leaders. Students also spoke about the toll remote learning and racial injustice has affected their health.

Tina Redmond (aka DJ Chic Chick) is a California native from Inglewood known for having many talents and ambitions. She is now the owner of Atlanta’s newest Black-owned radio station and television network, TRACC Radio and TRACC TV. Redmond (pictured left) says she created the two media platforms to offer independent artists, celebrities, as well business owners the opportunity to be promoted worldwide.
Redmond started her career professionally a little over a year ago. She is always bringing cultural music to the black communities and connecting the communities worldwide. Before moving back to Georgia, previously residing in the Peach State years prior, Redmond was in Hollywood, California working as a SAG-AFTRA actress and performing production work behind the scenes. After years of learning the industry in front of the camera, as well as behind the camera, she decided to start the planning of her work, then working her plan on the road to producing music documentaries
