DRC adopted its Aboriginal Employment Strategy, which aims to build a foundation to increase opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of the community, and build a strong organisational culture that supports and encourages our existing employees. Councillors adopted the new Aboriginal Employment Strategy.
REPORT: LIVE-CROSS CAMERA MEDIA SUPPORT SERVICE
Councillors noted a report about the potential third-party use of Corporate Image and Communication’s Live-U capabilities for local and state members of parliament, and other third parties. The report found that the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA) would need to be consulted to determine whether undertaking any additional news gathering roles would put DRC at odds with the local media, given that the primary function of Council’s media and communications team is to provide corporate media, communications, and public relations support to DRC.

One of the north-east’s best-known businessmen, Jim Milne, has said he is confident the worst is now behind the Scottish engineering and manufacturing industry.
Mr Milne, founder, chairman and managing director of Aberdeen-based Balmoral Group acknowledged there were significant challenges ahead for many firms as they try to recover from the impact of Covid-19.
But he also welcomed a new report highlighting an improvement in fortunes for the sector in Scotland.

More than 160 business leaders – including Aberdeen Lord Provost Barney Crockett – have co-signed an open letter calling on the Scottish Government to rule out plans for a second independence referendum to “break up the UK”.
The campaign is being co-ordinated by business group Scottish Business UK (SBUK).
The letter argues that the recent election sent a “clear and unambiguous message” that the new Scottish Government was “voted into power to steer the country through the Covid-19 crisis”.
It adds: “A divisive and distracting referendum on separation would put any chance of sustaining economic recovery at risk.
