AMRITSAR: Canadian government has announced a resettlement plan for the Afghanistan nationals who had helped the Canadian army but the same has dismayed the minuscule population of Sikhs and Hindus living amid Taliban resurgence and waiting to be rescued.
Gurnam Singh president of Gurdwara Karte Parwan, Kabul told TOI on Saturday We were hopeful that the government of Canada will also rescue us along with the Afghani’s who had been helping them all this time .
Under the newly announced resettlement program announced by Canada on Friday, the Afghani’s who worked with the Canadian armed forces as interpreters, security guards, cleaners, drivers, construction workers etc. and are believed to be in danger following the withdrawal of foreign troops would be resettled in Canada.

Oxygen war room opens in Wayanad

AAA An oxygen war room has started functioning at the District Emergency Operations Centre at the Collectorate here in the wake of an increase in COVID-19 cases in the district.
The round-the-clock war room would coordinate oxygen supply and ensure its availability in the district, said District Collector Adeela Abdulla.
Assistant Collector Balpreet Singh is the nodal officer of the programme. The staff members and equipment needed will be provided by the District Medical Officer.
All hospitals in the district will keep the war room informed of oxygen stocked, daily use and number of empty cylinders.
