Now that the 2021 NFL Draft is officially in the books and we’ve all had time to fully digest it, we at Baltimore Beatdown are prepared to give our overall draft grades for the Baltimore Ravens’ nine-man class:
The Ravens came into the 2021 draft with several needs and addressed just about all of them with the exception of offensive tackle and interior defensive line. The board couldn’t have fallen any better in the first round and they hit two of their top needs with a do-it-all dynamic wide receiver in Rashod Bateman and a uber-athletic edge rusher with tremendous upside Odafe Oweh. Picking up a hulking guard like Ben Cleveland will bring more size to the interior of the offensive line and I can’t wait to see how they plan to use Brandon Stephens in the secondary.

An exciting night is now followed up with another evening of college athletes lives changing forever. It’s Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Unfortunately for Ravens fans, after an enthralling Day 1 with two first-round selections, they now must wait 63 picks before getting their next rookie, as the Ravens are without their original second-round selection following a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Ravens have already done an excellent job of nabbing some of the best available talent that were also needs at valuable positions. They’re now poised to do the same again in Day 2.

Quickly after the Ravens’ selections in the first round, the Baltimore Beatdown fans were polled on the selections of WR Rashod Bateman and Odafe Oweh. Both garnered over 550 votes and the results are in!
More than 70% of Beatdown readers gave the Bateman pick an ‘A’ grade. Also, not a single percent was cast for any grade lower than a ‘B.’ No doubt, the fanbase is ecstatic about general manager Eric DeCosta and Co. going wide receiver in Round 1.
While the fanbase was uber-confident in the Bateman selection, there is hesitation with Oweh. It makes sense, as his stat-sheet isn’t so glamorous and there was more expectation the franchise would go for an Orlando Brown Jr. replacement in Teven Jenkins. However, Eric DeCosta voiced his confidence in Oweh and they appear rather enthused with landing the athletic defender. In the end, 85% of the Beatdown fanbase gave the Oweh pick an ‘A’ or ‘B’ grade.

The 2021 NFL Draft is here! It will begin Thursday night, April 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
Thursday night will only feature the first round. As of now, the Baltimore Ravens possess two picks in the first round (No. 27, 31). The Ravens are no strangers to trading up or trading down on Day 1 and it’s likely we could see them pick earlier or not at all on Day 1.
The second and third rounds will take place on Day 2 (Friday). Rounds four through seven follow on Day 3 (Saturday). Undrafted free agency begins as soon as the NFL Draft ends.
