Early Education Sector Applauds New Funding From Federal Budget

Early Education Sector Applauds New Funding From Federal Budget Early education organisations in Australia have applauded the Federal Budget’s new funding for the sector. Other than the previous commitment of $1.7 million for the Child Care Subsidy, the Federal Government last night announced it would further inject $2 billion into early childhood education over the next four years, which will ensure every child receives at least 15 hours a week of early learning in the year before school. “This latest announcement provides long-awaited certainty for Australian families and the many service providers that deliver a preschool program,” Paul Mondo, the president of Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA), said in a statement on Wednesday.

Australia s peak body for early learning services welcomes reforms to Child Care Subsidy improving affordability for many families

Date Time Share Australia’s peak body for early learning services welcomes reforms to Child Care Subsidy improving affordability for many families Australian Childcare Alliance The Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) commends the Federal Government in today’s commitment to provide additional funding for Australian families with young children via boosting the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). The new government funding reforms will incentivise more parents to return to work and take on additional hours, by making early learning (child care) services more affordable for these families. This includes the removal of the annual rebate cap for families earning over $189,390 plus bolstering the current CCS by 30% for the second (or more) child attending an early learning service.

Childcare win as federal Budget promises 95 per cent subsidy and subsidy cap lifting

Working parents with two children aged under five could soon be paying as little as $6 a day in childcare fees as part of the federal 2021-22 Budget. Treasurer Josh Frydenberg announced on Sunday a $1.7billion package that will bring in several sweeping changes to the childcare system. Among the changes include providing a 95 per cent subsidy for second and subsequent children aged five and under, and lifting the $10,000 subsidy cap for high-income earners.  Mr Frydenberg said the changes would not only be a massive help to hundreds of thousands of families, but also boost the number of people returning to the workforce.
