Supervisors OK ordinance requiring businesses provide firefighters keys | News, Sports, Jobs

mmcilwain@sungazette.com In a 4-1 vote, Loyalsock Township supervisors approved an ordinance created to have businesses have a locked box with a key to the business on their property in case of fires or burglary alarms, in the regular township meeting on Tuesday. Bill Burdett, township manager, said that the ordinance will require businesses to have a lockbox with their key inside for only fire company usage. This ordinance will help protect the businesses and also help save money because before this ordinance, if an alarm or a fire were to occur at a business and there was no way in, the fire company would have to break the door to get in and investigate the situation.
