Penrith heating engineer admits serious fraud crimes
Carlisle Crown Court
A heating engineer who carried out work knowing he did not have the proper accreditation has been warned he could receive a prison sentence.
Peter Wilson, 35, pleaded guilty to four charges of fraud when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today.
Three of the offences were committed as Wilson made false representations to three different people that he held valid Microgeneration Certification Scheme accreditation to carry out work on the installation of alternative heat source systems.
These occurred between December, 2014, and August, 2018, in the Appleby, Kirkby Stephen and Anthorn areas.
Offence: It is an offence to let your dog worry sheep A CARLISLE man has pleaded guilty to being the owner of a dog that worried livestock in fields on the western fringe of the city. Chris Heggie, 25, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at the city s Rickergate Magistrates Court yesterday. The court heard that it happened on Christmas Eve last year in the Moorhouse Road area. The livestock involved were sheep, the court heard. After the defendant entered his plea, and magistrates heard brief details, they adjourned the case until May 20. Court records say that the reason for the adjournment - at the prosecution s request - was so that consideration can be given to imposing an order that would compel the defendant to keep his dog under proper control.
Fear: One victim feared violence A thirty-year-old North Cumbrian man has admitted a second offence of subjecting a partner to ‘controlling and coercive’ behaviour. At Carlisle Crown Court, Mark Colin McCarron – formerly of Whitehaven but now living at Station Road, Workington – admitted an offence he committed between December, 2019, and August last year. The court heard that the defendant was already awaiting sentence at the city’s magistrates court for an ‘almost identical’ offence against another woman. The latest offence, committed in the Carlisle area, involved him leaving the victim fearing violence would be used against her on at least two occasions, the court heard.
